DunkMeter is a free dunk calculator. Put in your height, reach and jump, and it tells you how high you need to jump to dunk.
It also builds a 3D player from your numbers, so you can watch the jump before you try it on a real rim.
What you can do here
- Find the jump you need for a one hand, two hand or harder dunk.
- See which balls and rim heights you can dunk today.
- Check how your weight, a running start and training change your jump.
- Watch the jump in slow motion and replay it from other cameras.
How the numbers work
The calculator adds the rim height and the room each dunk needs above the rim. Then it takes away your standing reach. What is left is the jump you need.
Rim and backboard sizes follow the NBA rules. The training estimate comes from a review in the British Journal of Sports Medicine. The full method is on the calculator page.
Estimates, not promises
Every result is an estimate. Your real jump changes from day to day, so measure your reach and vertical on a wall for the best answer.
